Shockwave Therapy: Treating Injuries One Calcium Deposit at a Time
"Doctors could be looking at shockwave therapy, officially called extracorporeal shockwave therapy, as a viable non-invasive alternative treatment for shoulder pain. Analysis of 28 studies by experts at Tufts Medical Center in Boston showed that the treatment was effective in remedying rotator cuff injuries, a common cause of shoulder pain. Yet in an interview with CBS Boston, Dr. Raveendhara Bannuru said shockwave therapy for shoulder pain seems to be more effective for treating calcified rotator cuffs."

Car Accident Injuries and Chiropractic Care
According
to Forbes.com, the car insurance industry estimates, based on their
record of claims, that on average, each driver will file a claim for
a collision about once every 17.9 years. This trend shows two
important bits of information—(1) the rate at which each driver
will figure in an accident and (2) the rate at which he will likely
need compensation for a car accident injury.

Dangerous Combination: Sports and Spinal Injuries
Athletes fear back pain
as much as kids fear the dentist. It may not be because of the pain,

sports history, great athletes have fallen prey to sprains and

handful weren't as lucky. Spinal injuries are among the most
dangerous since the spine serves as the link between the brain and
every part of the body. Here are some athletes who suffered serious
spinal injuries:

Sound, M.D.: How Shockwave Therapy Works
Did you know that sonar
is harmful to marine life? Imagine getting hit by a wall of sound
waves almost twice as loud as the loudest rock concert in history.
Yet, had it not been
for the effects of sonar on fish, studies on sound therapy, focusing
on high intensity ultrasound, may not have kicked off. Sonar
technology evolved during World War II due to the threat of German
U-boats prowling the Atlantic, preventing merchant ships from
supporting the Allied war effort. Comprehensive medical research on
sound waves began around the mid-1940s.
