Remember: Back Pains Aren’t Always What they Seem

If you have crick in the back, don’t quickly dismiss it as something you caught from work or from a bad night’s sleep. It could be that your spine is already suffering from a degenerative, albeit uncommon disease or your shoulder muscles are already irritated due to overuse. The only way to be sure is for you to consult with renowned chiropractor who’ll be able to accurately identify the underlying cause for your pain.

Back pains are mainly caused by injuries, fractures, and mechanical problems. That said, there are times when back pain is caused by an infection on the spine, a condition known as osteomyelitis. It is mainly caused by a bacterial strain known as Staphylococcus aureus, although chronic conditions like diabetes can also result in osteomyelitis as a symptom. If the discs on the spine are specifically the ones infected, then the condition is known as discitis instead.

Other times, back pains are caused by a ‘joint dysfunction’ of the spine and ribs, usually characterized by debilitating pain that occurs whenever a person moves his or her upper body. The only way to treat this condition is with the help of an experienced chiropractor who can carefully manipulate the spine and ribs back into order. Strengthening exercises and aerobic conditioning are also necessary during the recovery process.
